Tennessee was founded in 1794. Texas opened in 1883. So when No. 1 Texas made its first trip ever to Neyland Stadium, we figured somebody should point out which UT got here first.
My preview for TriStar Daily looked at why this Texas team was beatable in Knoxville: it went 0-5 against the spread on the road last year, Tennessee was out-rushing it by almost 400 yards through three games, and 101,000 people at noon is not a place a young road team wants to be. Faizon Brandon against Arch Manning was the headliner, but the line kept dropping all week for a reason.
I took the Vols and the points. (They covered. We’ll talk about the final score some other time.)
