Five and a Fade, NFL Week 8: The Computers Like Pittsburgh

Jeremy Durham, sports columnist for TriStar Daily

This week every NFL pick had to get past the computer models and the handicappers before I put my name on it. That starts with the hard one. I am against the Titans, with the Bengals laying 10. It is not personal. It is math.

The game I like most is Pittsburgh -3.5 against Cleveland. It is the one game on the board where every model and every handicapper I checked agree, and most of the public is still on the Browns. I also have the Chiefs -1.5 at Denver, Jacksonville -7.5 against the Colts and the unbeaten Vikings +3 in Detroit.

The fade is the Raiders. The crowd has pushed this line to Las Vegas -1.5 at the Jets, but both models I trust have New York winning, and it is the biggest model edge on the slate. I am taking the Jets +1.5.

2026 record: College picks 9-7-1 (including the Vols) · Vols against the spread 3-2 · NFL picks 3-10
